I am a highly motivated student who is looking for a research-oriented position to help guide me on my path to making a Senior Thesis. I have an interest in Nuclear Engineering, but I want to be able to make a Senior Thesis, which is why I chose Engineering Physics. I have the skills of being a researcher, but I want to learn more about how to do research through the guidance and instruction of senior researchers, which is why the Pegasus-III position would be perfect for me. Additionally, I live in Madison over the summer, meaning I would have a short commute to the lab and would be available every day of the summer. The Earliest day of the summer I can start is 6-1, but I am free after that for the entirety of break and would be able to make accommodations to ensure I am available every day of break for future years.
The most important skill I have learned at Movin' Shoes is critical thinking and organization. To prescribe a shoe to a customer, I have to watch them walk and observe how their feet move and behave. This requires critical thinking because I need to be able to translate a behavior into a shoe that will give the best feel for the customer. We have over 80 unique pairs of shoes in the store, which requires me to stay organized so I know where every shoe is.
During my summers in high school, I worked as a senior counselor at Camp Shalom, which was run by the Jewish Federation of Madison. As a Senior Counselor, I was in charge of a group of 2-3 other counselors and 20-30 campers. Working at Camp Shalom helped improve my problem-solving skills because I had to come up with daily activities that would be both fun and safe for all of my campers. Additionally, I learned how to integrate kids with disabilities with the rest of the campers so they didn't feel left out or bullied, which required great problem-solving skills.
Fontana Sports Specialties is an outdoor gear retailer. As the E-Commerce Manager, I learned how to manage inventory, handle customer orders and complaints, and helped code the company website using HTML.
