I work as a physical therapist in the UK Healthcare Good Samaritan Medical office building as an outpatient physical therapist. Primarily my focus has been with patients with orthopedic pathologies and diagnoses, but I also have experience working with some pediatric patients and patients with neurological diagnoses such as CVA. Most of my time spent in this clinic thus far was during COVID which was a unique challenge. We had to modify many aspects of patient care and our clinic to protect patients and co-workers while maintaining high quality care. During the early days of COVID I was repurposed for different tasks while our clinic was temporarily closed. This included providing telehealth services, (which can be particularly challenging with physical therapy) and being a screener at hospital entrances at all hours. Our clinic also has received numerous top 5% patient satisfaction awards for which we are very proud. I was a super user during the transition to EPIC and was responsible for assisting all of the therapists in our clinic during the initial phase of roll out. During that time I wrote a handbook/guide for step-by-step instructions for our therapists on how to use EPIC for physical therapy services.
As a side note I have some rudimentary experience in simple programming. I have completed an introduction to computational thinking course at KCTCS during the spring semester of 2024
My role as a technician in this clinic was like prior employment as a technician but at a faster pace. Responsibilities included substantial amount of direct patient care and office tasks which included communication with insurance providers to verify details of patients’ physical therapy benefits
My role as a technician was to support the supervising physical therapist in a small, personalized office setting. My responsibilities included direct patient care, assorted office tasks and facilities management
