  • CSU Chico College of Agriculture Puerto Rico Experience.
  • was one of eleven participants out of over sixty to be selected for an educational visit to Puerto Rico to learn about agricultural practices, hardships, and techniques. Throughout the two-week trip, I gained knowledge about farm management in low-income areas where hurricanes, power outages, and lack of resources plague farms. also gained insight into starting dairy, pineapple, flowers, and mango farms from the ground up. this unique experience has given me a unique perspective and skill set when it comes to agriculture. specifically, I believe that resource optimization should be at the forefront of operation, Successful farms dedicate themselves in the off seasons to gather information about new techniques, harvesting and planting methods, and tax incentives to remain at the forefront of the industry. After the trip, I was one of three students to be given the opportunity to interview for the student-led position to manage, plan, and execute the trip.
  • CSU Chico Agtivate Facilitator

As a facilitator, I played a key role in welcoming new students, leading activities, and building meaningful connections. Including event setup, encouraged new students to connect, answered any questions new students had, hosted an activity to help make students more comfortable, and assisted in event clean-up.
