Aerospace Ground, Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
Perform maintenance on a variety of highly complex powered F-22 aerospace ground support equipment and F-22 non-powered support equipment used on current, legacy, test, and prototype aircraft
Diagnose and repair malfunctions using visual and auditory senses and test equipment
Perform repairs, remove, disassemble and assemble components and sub-systems using air and electric power tools and hand tools
Use a variety of sophisticated testers, such as analyzers, oscilloscopes, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, multi meters, compression testers, and hydrostatic load testers and other measuring devices to determine repair requirements
Correct unusual maintenance problems, isolate faults, and calibrate equipment by interpreting a variety technical data such as tables, charts, drawings, flow charts, color codes, wiring diagrams, and schematic symbols available in both manufacturer manuals and Air Force Technical Orders
Perform preventive maintenance (including Phase and Special Inspections), servicing, troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls, modifications, adjustments, and operate aerospace ground equipment such as AC and DC power generators, various types of internal combustion and turbine engines, air compressors, hydraulic test stands, cabin leakage testers, portable diesel engine driven generators, emergency lighting units, heaters, corrosion control and pressure washing units, trailer mounted gas turbine pneumatic power units, load banks, air conditioners, munitions loading vehicles, ground power junction boxes, power supplies and transformers, nitrogen servicing units, and various pieces of non-power support equipment such as axle jacks, tripod jacks, landing gear jacks, aircraft tow bars, oil and hydraulic servicing pumps, and maintenance stands and ladders
Apply automotive techniques when performing maintenance on trailer mounted equipment
Participate in and continually strive to improve safety program and develop safe working procedures
Perform maintenance data collection, document maintenance, prepare expense forms and maintain other required forms
Submit Technical Order Improvement Reports, suggestions for equipment improvement, Material Deficiency Reports, and perform Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO’s)
Fabricate non-procurable repair parts to avoid replacement of next higher assemblies
Ensure that all waste products are properly disposed of and maintained
Account for tools and equipment during flightline operations
Dispatch and deliver AGE to subpools and flightline personnel to support flight operations
Prepare AGE equipment for mobility, storage, and deployment
Perform equipment condition assessment and prepare for turn-in or disposal
Perform toolbox inspections and tool room/support operations
Participated in several Quality Assurance Evaluations with no defects
Identified discrepancies and safety hazards on various pieces of AGE equipment and performed repairs or suggested changes that helped avoid personnel injury or mishaps.
