Driven and resourceful, I honed critical analytical thinking and interpersonal skills through impactful roles at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. Excelling in patient care and administrative support, I demonstrated professionalism, multitasking, and a quick learning ability, significantly enhancing team efficiency and patient satisfaction without specifying a numerical percentage. I also showed a calm and helpful environment opening arms to anyone with any care or assistance needed. Allowing my passion for nursing to be shown everyday.
Salinas Valley Hospital gave me the opportunity to be part of there Summer Health Institute program. I job shadowed doctors and nurses, assisted with patient care, advocated for the Salinas community and studied case study's learning diagnoses. I gained teamwork, communication with piers, critical thinking, analyzing, observing, time management, step by step processes, note taking, and examination. We focused on hands on work such as vitals, shots, check ups, sterile work, infection prevention, proper hospital edict, and maintaining a professionalism attitude even outside of the hospital.
After quarantine had been lifted Salinas Valley Hospital was open for volunteers to come back into the hospital with the right required protection. I was at the front desk answering calls, redirecting visitors, checking in visitors, taking deliveries to patients room, taking deliveries up to floors, cleaning all the waiting rooms, picked up visitors care cards, stocked supplies for all floors and transported patients to the front lobby where family was waiting. I gained communication, professionalism, organization, problem solving, multitasking, physical stamina, and administrative assistance.
