I am looking to work in the field of social work in a criminal justice setting. I have completed the opioid impacted family support specialist certificate, and I am in the process of applying for my SAC-it. I started in a masters program for forensic behavioral health, but decided on social work with an emphasis on the criminal justice system. I will be earning a graduate certificate in forensic behavioral health in the spring of 2025. I believe in using strength-based and trauma-informed approaches and feel strongly that diversion and restorative justice yield more favorable outcomes than a punitive approach. I currently have a field placement at Arrow Behavioral Health where I am participating in substance abuse counseling and some case management.
At Barricade Flasher, I was responsible for formulating a plan and gathering all equipment necessary for road or airport construction projects. I oversaw many of my projects, and I collaborated with co-workers on other projects. I trained new hires. I managed my own time to ensure projects were complete on the day construction was to start. I have worked all over the state of WI, from Hudson to Manitowoc, Mountain to Madison, but most of the work was in Green Bay, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Appleton/Oshkosh areas. I also attended the ATSSA Traffic Control Technician Course and obtained my certificate of completion.
I assisted people in their homes in the Berlin, Green Lake, and Ripon areas. I helped people with an array of tasks, including cooking, cleaning, bathing, dressing, and shopping. I served as a companion and confidant for many of my clients.
I managed my own time and schedule between home visits.
I was responsible for reporting on clients' well-being and any incidents that might have occurred before, during, or after my visits.
I was a personal caregiver and companion for Eleanore Clark, who resided in Episcopal Homes in St. Paul, MN, and suffered from dementia. I worked the evening and overnight shifts. I would ensure her personal needs were taken care of and assist her to and from gatherings in the home.
Held an internship with Ben Ice and Richard Ta SLaa of Nature’s Best LLC.
