Pre-round on all patients, performing physical exams, reviewing labs and imaging to assess patient status and progress.
Conduct daily rounds, discussing patient care with interdisciplinary teams, and collaborating on treatment plans with attending physicians.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging, and clinical assessments to guide decision-making.
Manage ED and floor consults, addressing a variety of surgical and trauma-related cases while maintaining efficient workflow.
Lead and assist with trauma activations, performing level 1 & 2 trauma resuscitations, in collaboration with ED and trauma surgeons.
Conduct critical procedures in trauma settings, including laceration repair, ABG sampling, chest tube insertions, wound care, FAST exams, and NGT placement.
Analyze patients' physical presentations, complaints, and vital signs to determine immediate care plans and next steps.
Provide direct patient care, ensuring appropriate management of acute conditions and surgical interventions, while balancing high-acuity cases in the trauma bay.
Serve as a key member of the trauma and surgical team, contributing to patient disposition decisions and care coordination.
