Taught STEM engineering/robotics elective class for the past 9 years; last year three engineering projects advanced to the regional level, one taking first place in the engineering category
Participated in training involving the implementation of new Arizona state standards for science
Provided feedback to the district about changes that needed to be made
Created a pacing guide as well as packets that have been shared with other teachers throughout the district
Planned and implemented Science Fair Parent Nights, Fieldtrip Information Nights, and STEM Engagement Nights to drive parental learning and participation
Every year over 200 parents come to our information night to learn how to support their students
Even during COVID, we still conducted the meeting; only 75 parents showed up, but we zoomed the meeting and had about equal participation
Coordinated and sponsored a massive field trip to Catalina Island Marine Institute in California with 90+ students to study marine biology
This immersive marine biology field trip is a highlight to the students who attend
It is the first time some of the students have been out of state, on a boat or swam in the ocean

This became super successful and I was able to rotate students in and out of the group as needed based on content deficiencies
Developed and administered grade-appropriate lesson plans in keeping with established curriculum and with the inclusion of parents, administrators, and other instructional staff
I would work with the general education teachers to diversify lessons for all types of learners

I also went to business locally to ask for donations for prizes for student projects
The outpouring of support was tremendous
I had community members judge projects
I also obtained many gift cards to local organizations to give to students as prizes
It was an amazingly successful venture
