I have many duties as a health advocate concierge. I have been entrusted with the task of developing strong relationships with our members by providing exceptional customer service. Greeting customers and providing prompt service. I assist with customer inquires and requests for insurance regarding insurance policies where I research relevant policy information to answer the member's questions. I also frequently conduct follow up calls to ensure that members are provided with resolution to their inquires and are satisfied with the services that we provide.
While working as a certified nursing assistant I had many roles. I primarily worked in the memory care unit with individuals diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's. I was tasked with providing basic care such as; vitals, measuring weight, and recording intake and output. I would serve meals to my patients and would also assist in feeding those who were unable. I also assisted in activities of daily living including; exercised for mobility, bathing, grooming, and changing. A majority of the patients that I had were bed bound so I was responsibility for turning and repositioning these patients to ensure that they did not experience any breakdown of the skin. I was tasked with the responsibility of keeping very accurate notes and charting of the member's care and entrusted to report any change in condition to the registered nurse working at the time. The most difficult part of my job I would say was regarding end-of-life care, not only for myself, but guiding the family through that difficult time and all of the emotions that come with such a tragedy.
While working through this establishment as a certified nursing assistant I traveled to various facilities in Morgan and Scott county. I frequently worked in memory care facilities administering the same care, just at multiple locations instead of one set building. I had all of the same responsibilities that a certified nursing assistant has, although working this position did teach me that constant travel from each facility did make it more difficult to connect with my patient's and develop a strong bond and trusting relationship and when working in a memory care unit trust can make all of the difference in the world.
