I worked as a Kids Camp Counselor at Life Time Fitness, supporting children ages 3–12 in a fun, safe, and engaging environment. In this role, I used creativity to design and lead a variety of games, activities, and crafts that not only entertained the children but also helped them meet daily fitness and health goals. I focused on encouraging active play, teamwork, and positive habits through structured and unstructured programming. This was a highly collaborative position, where I worked closely with fellow counselors to plan activities, manage groups, and ensure a positive experience for every child. Through this experience, I developed strong skills in teamwork, communication, dedication, and patience, especially when working with children of diverse ages and needs.
I worked as a Childcare Teacher, supporting children ranging from 6-week-old infants to grade school students. My responsibilities included feeding, supervising, and maintaining daily routines such as nap time, while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. I incorporated creative, interactive activities that supported both physical development (mobility) and cognitive growth. This role strengthened my ability to work hands-on with children of all ages and taught me how to communicate effectively at different developmental levels to achieve positive outcomes and help each child feel comfortable and supported.
I participated in a School-to-Work program that provided me with school credit, paid work experience, and valuable learning opportunities that helped prepare me for my future career. This role marked my first job, where I gained experience working alongside adults as a young employee and developed a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism. I learned how to effectively balance work commitments with school and other extracurricular activities, strengthening my time management and organizational skills. I was taught to manage smooth client interactions, front desk operations, inventory accuracy and scheduling appointments. Through this experience, I also built confidence in communicating with coworkers and supervisors, while gaining insight into workplace expectations and teamwork.
