Hi, my name is Alexis Franklin and I graduated in December 2023 from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC with my Bachelor's degree in marine science. I want to get my foot in the door doing something I'm passionate about and willing to do anything asked of me. I have always been fascinated with oceanography and how the ocean works. I have experience in using bathymetric data from commerical shipping and recreational boating for a project in one of my classes and I have used GIS mapping in my wetland plant ecology class to come to conclusions on conservation of wetlands present around housing developments and gold courses in South Carolina. I have 5 years of customer service experience and know how to talk to people. I have developed skills in Microsoft software, poster presenting skills, and working in groups. I also have some animal handling experience like going on a shark cruise and going in the field to retrieve grass shrimp for a project. I am so eager to get into the field of marine science and ready to show what I bring to the table for my future employer, if presented with an opportunity.
