  • Titrate IV medications including vasopressors and sedation as ordered and per policy.
  • Report critical information to the appropriate physician without delay.
  • Assist in bedside procedures.
  • Draw labs and collect specimens according to policy and best practice recommendations.
  • Deliver optimum treatments to critical-care patients following prescribed rules, policies, protocol and procedures.
  • Evaluate patient vital signs, laboratory data, and diagnostic reports to assess/report needs and provide interventions without delay in care.
  • Detect emerging problems by monitoring patients' behavior, vital signs and fluid intake and output.
  • Develope and maintaine professional relationships with members of the health care team, patient and patient's family.
  • Advocate for patient's safety and rights while promoting recovery using the least invasive measures possible.
  • Observe strict safety measures, including completion of all medication safety checks prior to administration.
  • Deliver appropriate patient and family education regarding treatments and medications.
  • Admit and discharge patients appropriately and timely with necessary resources.
