Work History

Graduate Research Assistant

University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine
Iowa City, Iowa
08.2021 - Current
  • Mentor: Dr. Adam Mailloux
  • Research Description: My ongoing predoctoral research is focused on determining the mechanism in which hypoxia prevents the induction of antigen processing machinery (ATM). Loss of ATM could result in misrepresentation of tumor antigens, and subsequent evasion of the immune response.

Undergraduate Research Assistant

University of Kansas
Lawrence, Kansas
01.2019 - 12.2019
  • Mentor: Dr. Lena Hileman
  • Research Description: I used Thin Layer Chromatography and Polymerase Chain Reaction to test whether genetic differences at the F3’5’H gene are responsible for the shift from blue to magenta in the closely related species Penstemon amphorellae and P. kunthii when hummingbird pollination evolved in P. kunthii.
