• Freshman Research Immersion Program - Ecological Genetics, Conducted research on eDNA methods for detecting invasive species, specifically the spotted lanternfly, comparing sampling techniques to enhance early detection and biodiversity monitoring. Evaluated environmental factors affecting eDNA collection, supporting conservation and invasive species management efforts.
• Innovative Gene Therapy Research for Cardiovascular Disease, Led research on CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing as a treatment for coronary heart disease by targeting LDLR and GPR146 genes to lower cholesterol in genetically modified mice. Designed an experiment with CRISPR-based gene editing and statin treatment groups, using Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography (FPLC) to measure cholesterol levels. This work provides insights into CRISPR's potential for long-term cardiovascular disease prevention and advances in precision medicine.
