Perform benchtop testing (i.e. Titrations, pH, Density, etc) on samples retrieved from different systems on the production floor to ensure values are within expected ranges. Prepare and analyze electrolyte samples for Ion Chromatography to gather data and trends of the salt concentrations to assist with troubleshooting when failures occur. Support the engineering team with special projects and creative ideas to continue to produce reliable systems for our customers. Edit instructional documents to reflect any changes to routine procedures. Provide guidance and direction for perennial growth of the laboratory to support the needs of an expanding renewable energy company.

Perform analysis on incoming Drinking Water samples using LCMS. Prepare calibration standards and mobile phases needed to accurately quantitate the data for the various methods. Responsible for troubleshooting and maintenance of instruments when inconsistencies arise. Process data and input results into spreadsheets for MDL/MRL and LOD/LOQ studies to satisfy quarterly quality assurance requirements. Validate methods based on EPA qualifications for this matrix to gain certification and ability to accept samples per client request as needed.

Used previous experience to begin development of methods for GC-MS and GC-FID within laboratory. Created instrument maintenance schedule to be followed thereafter to establish preventative maintenance techniques for the department. Presented data in a comprehensible manner to management to dictate progress over time. Assisted in Wet Chemistry Laboratory as needed performing mostly proximate testing on grains. Established and monitored controls for testing within laboratory.

Tested routine samples taken throughout the process to indicate initial traces of equipment malfunction as well as ensure purity of final Xylose product. Performed testing on instruments such as ICP, GC, HPLC, and Ion Chromatography, Also performed preventative maintenance on instruments and troubleshooting as complications occurred. Lead Volatiles Laboratory mainly by means of GC-MS Headspace Analysis. Developed and trained employees on new methods based on client requests.
