• Performed preventive maintenance on vehicles, equipment and tools to ensure proper working order.
• Diagnosed mechanical problems and determined necessary repairs using technical manuals and diagnostic equipment.
• Repaired or replaced defective parts, components or systems using hand tools, power tools and special equipment.
• Prepared vehicles for painting by removing rust, dirt, grease, and wax; cleaned and sanded surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of paint.
• Applied primers, sealers and undercoats using spray guns or other application techniques.
• Performed spot repairs on damaged vehicles including dents, scratches, chips and rust spots.
• Masked off areas not intended for painting with tape and paper; removed masking after painting was complete.
• Applied top coats of clear enamel finishes to protect painted surfaces from damage due to weathering.
• Polished finished products with buffers and polishing compounds; inspected painted surfaces for flaws or defects.

• Responsible for all mechanical procedures necessary to restore complete function to vehicles purchased at auction
