Experienced Production Controller who works with all levels of the FRC Mid-Atlantic Planned Maintenance Interval and In Service Repair production support shops and supply chain to manage material, tooling, and kits through the repair/rework life cycle of F/A-18 aircraft.
Analyzed data to support decision-making and improve processes.
Utilized supply acquisition software and platforms, including NAVAIR Depot Maintenance System (NDMS) and Concept of Operations (CONOPS), to perform inventory checks and order components to meet production demand.
Analyzes material usage of high-use items and forecasts future material requirements. Order items needed to replenish pre-expendable bins to prevent material shortages for commonly used inventory.
Assists Work Leaders, Examination and Evaluation (E&E) personnel, and Industrial Engineering Technicians (IET) to gather technical data to submit Router Improvement Investigation Reports (RIIRs) as required to add material to the Bill of Material (BOM).
Works with the Planning and Estimating (P&E) department to ensure accuracy of all aircraft modification kits received. I update the AFC/AYC kitting database accurately. Update the monthly Technical Directive (TD) database with any changes for Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic (FRCMA), and submit to FRC Southeast Program Manager.
Maintained control of metal cage, replenishing metals and bar stocks for aircraft. Submitted Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs) for uncertified or untracked materials and processed Raw Material Inspection Reports (RMIRs) validated by Quality Assurance (QA) prior to issuance.
Direct liaison with fleet and shore based squadrons. Communicate FRCMA material needs with respective squadron representatives. Track material requested through Aircraft Material Status Readiness Report (AMSRR). I keep all parties updated on any potential delay that may cause production delays.
Coordinate with DLA, ASD, SARDIP, and SAIC to ensure the availability and procurement lead-time of required material. Submit naval message/memorandum(s) and expedite request(s) as necessary through the supply system.
I perform material management by monitoring production shop requirements. Look at schedules and related data to ensure production within the support area is at optimal level.
Provided status updates on outstanding requisitions to prevent delays affecting scheduled aircraft production completion dates.
Document updates on aircraft spreadsheets to include Naval Sustainment System (NSS), Aircraft Production Evaluation Schedule (APES), Squadron Procurement, and local FRC Aircraft Department spreadsheets and databases.
Screen all outstanding requisitions on the Undelivered Orders (UDO) and Back Order Reports. Make the proper updates to these reports and forward them to DLA and chain of command.
Discuss with Work Leads to confirm what material requirements need to be transferred, request JON to JON transfers on outstanding requirements.
Receive and check in all material in accordance with FRC policies and procedures. Coordinate daily with miscellaneous work centers to support various supply functions and processes.
Receive parts through NDMS and Aviation Supply Department (ASD) Material Delivery Unit (MDU), and accurately place material in the proper shipping and receiving location. Including Depot Level Repairable (DLR). Document all applicable aircraft spreadsheets and reports.
Comply with FRC procedures and policies and coordinate with Quality Assurance(QA) to ensure all parts received are accurate and serviceable.
Work with Production Control Center and Quality Assurance in work order closing, I screen all work orders for proper documentation.
Use the NDMS Corporate Reporting System (CRS) and CONOPS to perform work order move and close, and then use my certification stamp to certify accuracy and completeness.
Coordinate with Tool Room personnel, IMRL manager and Facilities Maintenance personnel on the shipping of all tooling, METCAL and IMRL equipment. I prepare shipping documents (DD-1149), arrange transportation, and provide tracking information to the appropriate personnel.
Regularly visit hangar or other production area that involves moderate risks and requires safety precautions.
Regularly wear safety equipment when exposed to or when it is required. Wearing Personnel Protection Equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe shoes, and other protective devices needed to work in a moderate risk environment. Example: Wearing hard hat, safety glasses, and ear plugs when entering hangar to protect yourself from low to moderate risk environments.
Use of forklift using necessary safety gear to operate the vehicle.
Managed inventories of general supplies, maintenance tools, and repair parts to support ship mission and deployed squadrons, ensuring operational readiness for both onboard and shore base activities.
Procured, received, stored, and issued repairable parts and general supplies. Maintained calibration for tools and test equipment and initiated requests for repair or survey of defective maintenance tools and test equipment.
Oversaw inquiries regarding production status and schedule delays as ship's PUK manager, managing over 200 aviation DLR components and consumable items valued at $2.8 million.
Initiated corrective action by identifying proper work center information and ensured all tooling, materials, and technical data accompanied units in process, effectively loading routed components into the workload control system and establishing due dates.
Without supervision, I personally establish physical locations of maintenance tools, general supplies, hardware and associated test equipment within assigned areas. Initiate requests for replenishment of inventory.
Maintain and update supplies correspondence records, computerized online inventory file reports, logistics and financial publications libraries. Knowledgeable of policies, procedures and specific regulations relating to hazardous material and hazardous waste.
