  • Support Director of Transportation with day-to-day operations, assist in facilitating Transportation yearly budget for 9501 accounts.
  • Oversee Maintenance of 450 School Buses and 160 Maintenance/support staff vehicles.
  • Partner with departments such as Purchasing to assist with cost saving bids for Transportation and purchases for t district.
  • Negotiate with vendors, purchase all school buses, vehicles for Dining Services, Distribution Services,
  • Work with HR for hiring, employee issues and concerns, assist Financing with fuel audits, and other account payable, and receivable accounts.
  • Secure grants, work with Risk Management when accidents, claims, workers comp, and insurance questions as arise.
  • Work with Payroll for time keeping for employees, surplus all county vehicles for maximum return to District, work with Property Records to inventory and track all assets for Transportation Department,
  • Maintain all record for Transportation Department, Legal Department and DOE, accurate bus and white fleet records for DOE, arrange for training so that staff can be up to date on all new bus and vehicles Transportation Department owns.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Department maintaining and managing Winter Springs and Midway facilities; oversee all projects and construction at both facilities, facilitate and manage mechanics CDL training and testing
  • Oversee Maintenance for all county fueling stations, UST certified to be able to inspect and maintain UST and AST storage tanks for Transportations fuel so that SCPS meets Florida DEP regulations, maintain all records for DEP, facilitate all inspections for district equipment so that it meets safety standards
  • Maintain all GS-1 (Payroll, HR, Routing, Bus Fleet, White fleet, Financial, Field trips, Workers Compensation, Fuel Stations) records for Transportation Department, and work with Dispatching facilitating routes and managing absentees to fulfill necessity of all student needs for SCPS Transportation.

Seminole County Public Schools (Chief Mechanic) 2011 - 2019

  • Oversee Inspection of school buses on regular scheduled basis to ensure they are in safe and proper operating conditions, assist garage mechanics with troubleshooting maintenance problems on transportation equipment, instruct mechanics regarding procedures and methods of vehicle maintenance.
  • Coordinate shift work of all mechanics, Maintain garage operation during absence of the Supervisor of Fleet Services and Garage Operations. Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles as instructed on Work Orders.
  • Maintain availability at any hour to assist in event of any emergency due to vehicle breakdown. Maintain familiarity with all aspects of vehicle maintenance and troubleshoot all school bus systems with speed and accuracy.
  • Provide input to Director of Transportation Services regarding qualifications of mechanical applicants.
  • Performed duties in accordance with applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines to promote safe working environment.
