  • Load and unload trailers, while following OSHA and DOT standards
  • While also optimizing work performance by creating new and more efficient routes to minimize drive time
  • Also applying the same concept to forklift operators by minimizing the footage traveled in the warehouse
  • As a supervisor for Old Dominion I have to wear multiple hats from being a floor supervisor and dispatcher for both city and linehaul operations
  • I have to make decisions on a fly to make the operation flow efficiently and smoothly.

Logistics Supervisor

Overland Distribution
05.2017 - 11.2017
  • I coordinate all inbound and outbound loads of the warehouse
  • Working along with the dispatch team and other trucking companies to be as efficient as possible
  • Always multi-tasking by managing the warehouse team and coordinating with customers through calls and email
  • I also enforced safety regulations to meet
  • OSHA and DOT regulations
  • While also strategizing how all material would be stored in the 22,000 square foot warehouse to maximize its capability
  • At times I would also help the warehouse by operating forklifts ranging from 5k to 35k to load, unload, or simply put/remove a container from a chassy
  • I would use software like Word, Excell, and 3PL.

Asset and Storage Coordinator

SHELL TECHNOLOGY CENTER
05.2016 - 05.2017
  • I started as a receiving member
  • I would receive and log manually on paper and also by scanner
  • I would itemize, label, and sort according to the shipments respective building locations
  • I also unload flat beds, vans, trucks, and cars while operating a forklift (4k-11k lbs lifting capability), electric pallet jack and stand up forklift
  • A few months later I worked my way to receiving lead
  • In which I was now responsible to train any new hire and had to follow up with other receiving members on day to day tasks
  • I was adopted to continue my development by becoming the Asset and Storage coordinator for the site
  • I have then needed to do several inventory audits of different areas throughout the site
  • While also communicating with other groups on site whether through emails (Microsoft Outlook), phone calls, or through radio to coordinate new items entering storage or stored items shipping out
  • I have also added operating a stand-up lift to be able to store items in warehouse shelves 20-30 feet up
  • I have to create job permits that need approval from the safety team when a situation out of the norm arrives itself.

  • It consisted of everything from palletized items, pipes, loose boxes, crates and farming equipment
  • The use of extensions, drum pickers, rug poles were commonly used
  • While loading, I learned to be able to work on several loads at once
  • To be able to evaluate the capacity that is left in a van and be able to communicate with leadership on what will fill the van and the time line to do so
  • This sometimes required having a grasp of DOT Hazmat regulations in order to make loads safe while efficient
  • Weight and research was also applied in order to optimize revenue on all shipments
  • Being able to mentally visualize the merchandize and load base off from reading my scanner helped me by completing my loads in a timely manner.
