OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

CARPARTS.COM
07.2020 - Current
  • My responsibilities varied quite a bit during my tenure at CARPARTS.COM
  • I was first hired on as a Receiver/Shelf put away in the warehouse
  • This consisted of profiling high velocity inventory, investigating open PO’s as well as missing inventory, as well as assisting drivers with issues
  • I also assisted the lead with inbound duties and operated a cherry picker daily
  • A year into my employment I was promoted to Receiving Team Lead
  • As a receiving team lead, I assisted the supervisor in planning the day so that our floor had a consistent flow
  • I began documenting incoming containers, completed all reports pertaining to arrival of containers, as well as what containers were going to be unloaded per the “LFD” (last free day)
  • Two months later I became a supervisor
  • My role as a supervisor included overseeing and supervising 12-15 employees
  • As Supervisor I arrived one to two hours early to walk the floor/warehouse to see what needed to be consolidated based off of our unload plan
  • After my team stretch, I assigned duties to each associate for the day
  • I than sent my morning reports
  • Each day I reviewed ADP hours for each employee, making sure all were correct and approved by myself, for HR
  • Throughout the day myself and my lead would walk the floor ensuring all employees were on task according to TAKT
  • I would also choose one employee each day to do an observation according to TAKT to make sure they were following the correct process
  • I made sure my lead did the daily safety walk to make sure were in OSHA compliance
  • As supervisor I set a daily goal on how many containers we were going to unload, as well as a goal for units received and units put away
  • I assisted shipping with any needs
  • Communicated with night transportation when a container had been emptied and was ready for pickup
  • One other duty that was important as my role as supervisor and for growth in the company was assigned and taught my lead more, So that in the future he would be able to apply to be a supervisor and the transition would be much easier because I taught him what I would do daily
  • This also helped if he worked a shift when a supervisor wasn’t there the floor was still ran appropriately and all tasks were executed and completed as if the supervisor was there.
