Podcast Experience

The Other California, Creator and Producer. As news director for KVPR, NPR for California’s Central Valley, I applied for and received a highly competitive California Humanities Documentary Grant to write, report and produce a limited podcast about small towns in the San Joaquin Valley. 

Escape From Mammoth Pool, Editor. This podcast received a 2022 Golden Mike Award from the Radio Television News Association of Southern California

Oral History Projects

JOURNALISTS IN GHANA: FROM A CULTURE OF SILENCE TO A FREE PRESS, 2018, project director

University of Ghana graduate students recorded and transcribed interviews with journalists who worked during Ghana’s transition from a military dictatorship to constitutional rule in the 1980s and ‘90s. Print and audio versions are archived at the Institute for African Studies at the Nketia Institute in Accra, Ghana.

Hilversum, Netherlands, 2019. Presented a paper on my oral history project, Journalists in Ghana: From a culture of Silence to a Free Press.

CENTRAL CALIFORNIA WAR VETERANS ORAL HISTORY PROJECT, 2010-2012, Audio Manager

Fresno State students recorded and transcribed interviews with war veterans living in the Central Valley. More than 1000 oral histories have been archived in the Henry Madden Library, creating a database for future scholars, historians, journalists and others interested in Veteran stories.
