My mission in life is to help people, and I feel that I can best do that through politics and
government. I enjoy researching policy, planning and transportation methods, and voter
engagement. When the Marjorie Stoneman Douglass School shooting happened in 2018, I felt
called to act. This was my first engagement with politics, as I sent letters to congresspeople,
joined political organizations, and researched safer gun legislation.Six years later, my journey
continues with majoring in political science and furthering my career in policy at the prestigious
Humphrey School.
In this role, I collaborated with my fellow interns and staff, researching policy, answering phones, and sending emails. Field experience included volunteering at foodbank and farmers markets
I obtained shadow experience by observing a typical day at the Sacramento Capitol and Senate hearings.
Key skills included- fast and creative thinking
Designing a re-election campaign to appeal to college students: such as delivering political information at tailgates with hotdogs

In the Summer of 2023, I learned the value of, and importance of, electing women into governmental offices. My placement was with City Councilwoman Robin Wonsley, where I campaigned for her, did a shadow day at City Hall, and observed her day-to-day work life. In addition, I learned about key campaign aspects, such as fundraising, as well as learning from organizations such as ActBlue and Planned Parenthood.
Key skills included networking and check-ins with my supervisors.
Learned how to door knock, as well as navigate key Democratic voter base systems.
Learned about state, federal, and city politics, and the range they have.
Spent 40 hours canvassing houses and electronically reaching out to voters.
Learned about different positions within the staff.
Helped campaign as well for Cori Bush, Zaynab Mohammed, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib, as well as mayors and city council members.
Set up and helped prepare for events.
