Under the supervision of Nurse Preceptor;

• Provided direct patient care to a maximum of 2 patients; performed daily assessments, diagnose, planned, implemented, and evaluated nursing care plan to achieve patient goals and optimize outcomes.
• Effectively advocated for the patient while promoting autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs values.
• Provided primary patient care; physical assessments, vital signs, time management, medication administration, and listening to report. Monitored and maintained catheters and IVs.
• Maintained safe, quality care and fostered a comfortable environment for each patient.
• Investigated on medications to learn more about each mechanism, action, peak and onset while observing evidence-based practice.

Cardiac Step-Down Medical-Surgical Unit

• Provided physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
• Performed ADLs, 12 lead ECG, bladder scanner, and venipunctures.
• Recorded vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration rate as requested by staff and collected specimens.
• Ensured patients received appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
• Measured and recorded food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reported changes to charge nurse.

Cardiac Step-Down Medical-Surgical Unit

• Provided primary patient care; physical assessments, vital signs, time management, medication administration, and listening to report. Monitored and maintained catheters and IVs.
• Educated patients, families, and caregivers on diagnosis, treatment, and disease management.
• Follow all safety protocols when administering subcutaneous and intramuscular injections and maintaining documentation promptly.
• Collaborate with treatment and service providers using an interprofessional, interdisciplinary team approach for continuity of care.

• Assisted with routine checks and diagnostic testing by collecting and processing specimens.
• Directed patients to exam rooms, fielded questions and prepared for physician examinations.
