Over the last 17 years of my career as a registered nurse, I have advocated for patients, contributed to significant patient care by applying critical thinking, and provided education to patients and family members. Fluent in Zuni and experienced as a medical interpreter, I facilitate effective communication for individuals needing medical assistance, ensuring inclusivity and understanding in diverse settings. After finishing my degree, when I pursued my Master’s degree in Nursing Administration, I learned that to become an effective leader, one must be an ethical leader. Ethical leaders need to respect and value their employees. Effective leadership results in improved staff nurse performance.
