My Statement

I love working with the children, whether they are infant age or transitioning out of childhood and into teenager. I have always connected well with children of all ages. My plan with the art position is to take it and mold it into a fine arts program to compliment the school plays and displaying of the students creative expression. I want to create something that gives students with different interest and abilities a place to grow and find a talent that they have not yet explored. As a student, I was not much into playing sports, and though I kept good grades, I was not the top student. Art was always where I would shine. When I was introduced into Theater Arts, a new door opened for me. I found something I truly loved and was passionate about. I want to offer this for our students as well. I want to help them tap into the creative side of their brain and maybe help them find something they are passionate about. I am, also, going to abide by the TEKS requirements so that our 8th graders have the option to take accredited art, and eventually accredited Theater Art, giving them the ability to have credits going into high school. I will, also, be working towards finishing my college degree, and becoming certified. Once I finish, I plan to push my professional boundary further and would like to pursue my colloquy. I was raised in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and raise my children in the same doctrines and values. It is important to me to not just teach the students art, but to teach in an environment that displays strong Christian values.
