Work History

Contract Specialist

PSNS
06.2023 - Current
  • As a Contract Specialist on the Aircraft Carrier Team for PSNS, I am responsible for completing all phases of ship repair contracts and fulfilling contract deadlines for several availabilities for Carrier Nuclear Vessels (CVN) 68 and 78 class ships.
  • As part of overseeing contracts, I build a Plan of Action (POAM) for each availability and prepare a ship repair work package alongside a team of Ship Building Specialists and Project Managers. I ensure the work package is provided to the awarded Contractor along with a request for proposal that outlines the requirements, proposal submission deadlines, and contract fees and percentages.
  • After receipt of proposal from a Contractor, I conduct an analysis of the proposal package per each work item that we requested be repaired on the carrier. My analysis includes review of labor wages and rates, labor hours per job and a comparison of total proposal fees against the Government’s Independent Estimate of the work requested.
  • The maintenance of a contract is vital as it serves as a performance measurement tool that is evaluated when the contract is finalized, and Contractors are offered incentives for meeting deadlines. Documenting their progress during the execution of a contract proves they are eligible to receive incentive fees or determined ineligible.
  • Build positive business partnerships with the Contractor to ensure smooth business transactions as well as maintaining open communication with all parties on the technical side for business advising.
  • Conduct customer service by providing appropriate and applicable information to the Contractor regarding deadlines, key event dates, pricing, and fiscal year labor rates.
  • In addition to completing my daily position duties, I am currently in process to complete DAU Contract Certification, estimated completion date is late Spring 2025.

Waterfront Support Assistant

PSNS
12.2021 - 06.2023
  • While on the project team for SSN 22 Connecticut as an Administrative Assistant, I oversee administrative operations including timekeeping records for second and third level supervisors for daily entry in SUPDESK for a total of 42 employees spread out through a total of 4 supervisor accounts, communicate: command information, building maintenance, emergency notifications to the project team, and send out meeting invites to team trainings. In addition, I collect, track, and report time attestations for all 42 employees to ensure our team is in compliance with payroll instructions.
  • Administration and management include collaborating with project team management and contractors in the planning and oversight of 4 Integrated Project Team Development Conferences. Duties involve coordination of weekly meetings to discuss agenda topics, preparing an appropriate roster of attendees, sending invitations, securing locations for the conferences and aligning with the contractor of the project expectation for the event.
  • Furthermore, I coordinate the scheduling of office supplies for the entire project team. I engage with the team’s planner and his logistical partners to ensure there are sufficient funds to cover the expense of supplies. To maintain an organized process, I have programmed a consistent schedule for submission of supply orders. The addition of a schedule has alleviated the backlog of orders on the planners and has kept the team accountable for submitting their requests in a timely manner.

Crime Victim Advocate

Kitsap Sexual Assault Center
09.2019 - 07.2020
  • Provided supportive services to victims of crimes. Supportive services included court accompaniment to legal proceedings, legal advocacy - involved calling attorneys and asking if they would be willing to provide legal advice pro bono or making referrals for legal aid - and referrals to community resources, emergency financial assistance, and individual therapy.
  • All clients receiving services from the center were offered individual therapy sessions at no cost. As an advocate, the client’s therapist and I would coordinate care and assessment plans that best suited the individual.

Victim Advocate

Human Services Association
03.2018 - 09.2019
  • I served a marginalized population of undocumented persons who are victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault by gathering a network of resources and coaching them through a functional plan to diminish victimization.
  • Provided resources for low-income housing, cash aid and food aid, and job building skills for the problems victims faced as the result of their victimization.
  • I assisted victims with legal advocacy by working in a team-based approach with attorneys that represented undocumented persons. Legal advocacy consisted of making referrals to attorneys that were willing to help victims at a low or no cost.
  • I collaborated with other departments within the organization to promote services to people in the community and host events for clients that provided information of community resources. Department networking involved police departments, state welfare departments, mental health facilities, social workers, and licensed therapists.

Legal Assistant

RMD Law
07.2017 - 09.2017
  • I assisted three personal injury attorneys in filing lawsuit case information using a software system named FileVine. FileVine allowed me to file case information in a step-by-step process. It also alerted me if documents were missing in the client's case. I filed all cases for all attorneys at the firm; all cases were at different stages of the trial process and required timely filing due to court deadlines.
  • I managed the office by keeping record of office supplies and both lunchroom and cleaning supplies. All supply and food orders were kept filed to ensure that spending measures were kept within budget and were timely. Keeping a running tab of expenses was essential as the law firm was a start-up company and staying within budget helped maintain the livelihood of the firm.
  • Mailed correspondence provided case sensitive information and it needed to be distributed in an urgent manner as it impacted on the trial dates.
  • I answered all incoming calls and distributed new client information to each attorney depending on the type of personal injury case and the attorney's active caseload. Each potential client went through an intake process with me over the phone. The intake process consisted of a series of questions to identify the type of case the client was trying to deal with and the details of the case for the attorney to review.
  • I sorted and distributed mail; each attorney had their own method of receiving mail. Some preferred paperless mail, so I scanned and emailed their mail to them each day. Others preferred it to be set on their desk by priority level. I made sure each attorney received their mail in their preferred method and in a timely manner.

  • I screened all incoming calls for senior executive staff members and the CEO. Most calls were conferences that involved executive staff from offices in different locations. All conferences needed to be handled in a timely manner as different states had different time zones. I also screened all sales calls for the sales division teams helping me to promote the company's products over the phone and increase the company's sale volume.
  • I prepared statistical reports by communicating with the lab teams and chemists to ensure that the amount of sanitation products produced each day were entered into the company's database using Lasserfische. This data entry method was conducted on a daily basis to help establish a live count of inventory.
  • I sorted and distributed all incoming mail and provided each division (sales, executive management, Chem lab) of the company with their appropriate correspondence.
  • Handled sensitive incoming mail, including checks from sales accounts for products purchased and for maintenance of the building (electricity bills, routine office cleaning services, office supplies, etc.)
  • Reviewed all checks and created a daily financial report of incoming checks and debriefed with accounts receivable and payable departments for company accounting purposes. Accuracy in this area of my daily tasks was essential as the company’s bank account totals depended on the income received from checks daily.
