How it started:
My son enlisted in the Army about 6 years ago (after attending college out of state). I was chatting with someone about how I was missing him while he was done with Basic Training and at Airborne School (both in Georgia). She said, "It's just like he's away at college." After hearing that, I knew that I needed to start a group for other military moms because I needed others that would understand my feelings. So, I started a group and named M.O.M.S. (Moms Of Military Servicemembers. We meet once a month, have breakfast together, update each other on our military kids, do prayer requests, and then we do a craft, care packages, or community events.
