  • Intelligence Unit: I was responsible for the collection, dissemination, and reporting of confidential STG information. I identified, gathered, and profiled individuals in custody and on parole involved with STG activity. I monitored identified STG members and leaders’ daily activities through telephones, mail, trust fund accounts, job assignments, leisure activities, visitor records and disciplinary history. I reviewed all inmate job assignments for approval / placement. I assisted in the handling and tracking of confidential informants and regularly completed entries into the Corrections Intelligence System (CIS). I regularly conducted interviews with individuals in custody regarding STG information and related incidents.
  • Intelligence Center: I reported directly to the Northern Region Deputy Commander of Intelligence and Chief of Parole for requests related to individuals on parole. On a daily basis, communicated with and assisted with filling approximately 4,000 annual requests made by all federal, state, county, and municipal law enforcement entities including FBI, CPD, and Cook County Sheriff’s Department. This assignment also included but was not limited: coordinating interviews of individuals in custody statewide, relaying requests for confidential informants, and attending to subpoenas submitted by various state’s attorneys entities. I also reported the results of these duties on a daily basis to the Northern Region Deputy Commander of Intelligence and Chief of Parole. I was trusted with handling confidential law enforcement intelligence directly related to individuals in custody incarcerated within IDOC involved in high profile STG investigations. I also regularly addressed subpoenas for all IDOC documents including AMS records, EM records, and other confidential IDOC documents.
