Responsible, passionate, and creative college student, currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology. I am driven and excited to take on a new position in healthcare to gain experience in the field, as I plan to purse a Masters in Nursing or a Physician Assistant Certification in the next couple years.
Part-time/Paid Position: I obtained this role as a promotion from a student aide position to a part time staff position in the Biology Lab at Oakton College. I was responsible for preparing and setting up for chemistry, anatomy, and biology labs, and was responsible for preparing any media, cultures, solutions or set ups necessary. I took inventory of specimens, equipment, and supplies , as well as sterilizing/autoclaving biohazard waste.
Part-Time/Paid Position: As a Biology Lab Aide, I was responsible for preparing and setting up labs for Biology, Microbiology and Chemistry classes offered at Oakton College. Part of this preparation included preparing media for bacterial growth, making solutions, sanitizing/sterilizing equipment and biohazard waste, taking inventory, and maintaining biology equipment, models and supplies.
Part Time/Temporary Paid Position: As a lab assistant for the science department staff at Niles North High School, I was responsible for organizing the stem lab, prepping science classrooms for students' experiments, doing inventory, and assisting teachers with coordinating science projects and events.
Temporary/Part Time: I worked with a crew to perform ecological restoration and trail maintenance projects in the Forest Preserves of Cook County. I engaged in rewarding and valuable physical work outdoors on conservation/restoration projects at the River Trail Nature Center. These projects included trail work, invasive species removal, native planting, and other nature center projects. As a crew, we participated in weekly field days, learning about the local ecology at various sites throughout the region.
