Accomplished Program Developer at Capital Tea, recognized by PeopleToday and NPR for pioneering the first trans safe house in Florida, showcasing exceptional community engagement and advocacy skills. Driven by community involvement, advocacy and life experience. I excel in creating impactful programs and fostering strong relationships, driving innovative solutions and positive change. As a part of a team of 2 over the years, I’ve had to wear many hats at Capital Tea. Starting as a volunteer, later then a board member, to eventually being President of the board. A shapeshifter to my executive’s and my community’s needs, I’ve had to educate myself and execute many objectives to honor our TLGBQ community by centering the most marginalized, trans women of color.
I have extensive work with the community, educating people from a decolonized POV, advocacy, to testing over 200 black and brown people for HIV while destigmatizing, educating and preventing it. As someone who is a part of the community, listening to the community and producing has lead us to opening the first house of its kind. Over the years I’ve learned a lot, I’ve been inspired, and I am motivated to apply my passion, knowledge, growth to a likeminded company or organization that aligns with my morals, and mission. Thank you.
Gaining recognition from people today, and NPR together with my Executive Director, Janel Diaz. We have opened up the first trans safe house for trans women in Florida. The first program of its kind, years we have been developing, editing, listening, analyzing and doing the ground work. Creating a blueprint to fill a void here in the Big Bend region.
