  • The Respiratory Care Supervisor performs the following duties and responsibilities in accordance with established policies and procedures, as assigned. Implements Continuous Quality Improvement Activities. In any patient care setting, the Respiratory Care Supervisor supports ongoing processes to improve services and clinical outcomes. The Respiratory Care Supervisor participates in, and facilitates, continuous quality improvement activities. Manages described duties and responsibilities. The Respiratory Care Supervisorcompletes staff assignments to coordinate patient care and other clinical activities. The Respiratory Care Supervisor is expected to maintain updated policy and procedure manuals and is expected to ensure staff adherence to departmental policies. The Respiratory Care Supervisor will take measures to maintain accreditation standards.This person will be required to implement new services from time to time. The Respiratory Care Supervisor maintains adequate staffing to meet the needs of the department and has the ability to function in the role of a staff registered respiratory therapist when required. This individual will take measures to ensure that departmental supplies and equipment are utilized in a timely and efficient manner. They will also be responsible for accurately processing department charges following written guidelines. The Respiratory Care Supervisor will be responsible for taking measures and performing designated functions to ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory agency standards. Utilizes Effective Leadership Skills. The Respiratory Care Supervisor is expected to be an effective communicator and to communicate concerns in a proactive manner. This individual will oversee the human resources development of department personnel including education, behavior modification, and completion of performance evaluations in a timely manner. This individual must have the ability to delegate effectively. The Respiratory Care Supervisor will participate in the continuing education of department and health system staff as well as serve as a mentor for respiratory therapy and other students. This person will actively seek methods to enhance personal growth and development. This individual must possess effective customer relation skills.
