The skills I have learned and developed as a waitress, cashier, and barista over the past few years of my young adult life, has given me a practical way of pursuing my education and developing my character. My experience has given me really good insight into how to have better people skills and become more detail oriented with my environment.   • My responsibilities in this position includes working in a CAP accredited lab making reagents for dying slides, coverslipping slides manually and on various machines, correctly labeling surgical slides for diagnoses, properly operating and taking care of processing machines to ensure proper care of slides, filing of slides, and inspecting slides to ensure proper dying has been reached
  • This job requires personal knowledge from college to be able to understand how to dye and care for specimens.
  • My job is to also comply with local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations.

  • At lifenet health I am responsible for processing, storing, and preserving donated tissues in a FDA regulated environment
  • I am working in their placenta department also sometimes helping with their dermis (skin) department as well
  • Working in aseptic conditions as a team and individually is a big part of this job
  • Along with using my motor skills, a variety of equipment, meeting physical demands, and being proficient in timing and scheduling
  • While working on the preservation and cleaning of tissue, learning the different medicines and chemicals used in certain processes is required of me along with using certain mixtures to create solutions necessary to the processes I am responsible for
  • Other duties and responsibilities that come with processing tissue include disinfection, cutting and sizing, cleaning, dissection, decontamination, and assessing
  • All of these steps are done while following the most current procedures and protocol
  • Performing documentation, quality assessment, production processes, culturing and reviewing documentations, are a huge part of my role here.
