DEPARTMENT HEAD - responsible for the management of Administrative functions and programs, including Microsoft 365, Copilot, manpower, personnel management (civilian and military), personnel, information, and physical security, operating budget development and execution, physical space management, and facilities management, Civilian Drug Program Coordinator (DPC), Human Resources (HR), Civilian Recruitment and hiring, Civilian Employee Assistance Program (CEAP), equipment inventories and travel system.
- Coordinated team schedules and meetings, ensuring effective communication among stakeholders.
- Streamlined administrative processes, enhancing operational efficiency across various departments.
- Exercises the full range of personnel management responsibilities and authority in directing staff including performance evaluations and providing advice, counsel, and guidance.
- Distributes work, provides technical guidance and reviews completed assignments of subordinates.
- Initiates personnel actions for recruiting, training, promoting, commending, and disciplining employees.
- Reviews and approves performance standards and evaluations; ensures equity of performance standards and rating techniques; assigns and reviews work products of subordinate activities, and amends, accepts or rejects work; periodically monitors work accomplishment for timeliness and acceptability; provides advice, counsel and instruction, and makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors; ensures that an effective program is in place to identify training needs and developmental opportunities of the staff and that the needs are met in the proper timeframes; encourages and assists civilian employees in the development of individual development plans; periodically reviews job descriptions for currency and accuracy.
- Maintains effective management-employee relations; reviews and refer employee complaints; refers cases requiring disciplinary action and/or resolution to the Commanding Officer.
- Determines work that needs to be accomplished.
- Resolves problems and conflicts ensuring coordination, consolidations, and synthesis of all administrative and supply operations.
- Provides recognition recommendations to the chain of command to deserving employees.
- Assures that subordinates, job descriptions are current accurate, and designed to ensure optimum efficiency, effectiveness and economy of operations.
- Promotes employee participation in all command programs.
- Supports and demonstrates consistent emphasis on and compliance with the safety program, equal opportunity, equal employment opportunity (EEO), in employee selection, promotion, training, and other personnel activities and actions.
- Coordinates with EEO counselors, other officials, and employees to resolve formal and informal complaints.
- Promotes affirmation actions and upward mobility.
- Identifies, analyzes, and recommends actions for all coordination within the Administrative, Supply, Facilities Management, and Personnel Programs.
- Represents the Commanding Officer, at meetings and conferences regarding manpower, administrative, budgetary, and supply matters to ensure unit workload and force structure requirements are properly considered and recorded.
