Performs assessment, develops care plan, provides intervention to mothers and infants with critical lactation needs. Supports over 800 dyads annually.
Communicates and collaborates with health care partners including physicians, public health nurses, midwives, and other lactation consultants .
Documents lactation support in program's integrated systems. Responsible for development, evaluation and oversight of breastfeeding support groups.
Plans and oversees development, implementation, integration, evaluation, and coordination of lactation service delivery with regular WIC services. Oversees development and implementation of project goals and objectives; develops and revises policies, protocols and procedures; and ensures agency compliance. Oversees personnel actions including recruitment, hiring, budget adjustments, time-keeping, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, etc. Oversees development of training plan and support materials. Plans and leads monthly LC/PC Supervisor meetings. Prepares quarterly and annual reports and satisfaction surveys.
Performs assessment, develops care plan, provides intervention to pregnant and breastfeeding families. Offer support, education and counseling to help families reach their lactation goals.Processing referrals, authorization and billing for clients as needed.
Provided breastfeeding education and basic lactation support to WIC participants through phone consults, on-site individual and group education, and in hospital rounds.
