  • Provided key information to the chain of command, such as the number of missing persons, fatalities in the county, and resource needs.
  • Coordinated with the local emergency department on a family who needed rescuing from the mountain and had food needs. Family was brought to safety through the National Guard
  • Worked with hotel franchises in Western North Carolina to get them into FEMA’s transitional sheltering assistance system so displaced survivors could stay in the county or neighboring counties to cut down on drive time.
