As A TCF Trainee I had to shadow ,observe and learn the responsible for overseeing EMS activities throughout WLAVAMC, working close consultation with the Chief, implements organizational structures, operating plans and procedures to achieve program goals and determines needs for resources and their appropriate allocation and effectiveness of use and working with Acquisition & Material Management for monitor, establish par levels, organized storage rooms ensure we do not exhaust of our supplies. Work with Logistics to put into place an annual review of EMS equipment needs and submit equipment request as necessary. And making sure that good Staffing levels met.
Work with the linen Manager on the linen committee in accordance with VHA Handbook 1850.03. Work with chief on budget activities and fund control point for prioritizes, and tracks all in relation to the Interior Design Fund and EMS Fund Control Point. Assist in the planning and coordination of all facility moves.
As Ensure EOC Deficiencies are closed out within 14 business days or a PFA is put into place as required by VHA Directive 1608 and attend all EOC meetings. Establish local SOP to ensure the usage and storage of OR cleaning equipment is in accordance with guidance.
Developed & train EMS SOP, identifying proper floor maintenance procedures for all types of flooring. Developed & identify areas for improvement to curb potential shortfalls for the current waste tracking process and waste management program. Training documents incorporated into employee personnel folders. Incorporate training for supervisor and housekeeping staff on assignments for the coverage areas.
Maintains and monitors work plans for staff utilization; directs supervisors in the need to revise work schedules, rules of conduct and disciplinary procedures; participates in setting performance standards of employees in the program; plans and approves leave for subordinates, supervisors and staff; evaluates and issues Supervisor performance appraisals; obtains advice/guidance from the Chief, EMS on problems for which no precedent or policy exists.
Meets the needs of customers while supporting VA Mission and consistently communicates and treats customers (veterans, their representatives, visitors, and all VA staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner. Provides the customer with consistent information. Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer in constructively and appropriately.

As Supervisor responsible for prepared weekly duty schedules, vacation schedules and approved annual and sick leave request for as up to 15 to 20 HKA Employees, grades WG-2 to WG-4. Leave approval is based on optimum effectiveness within the limits of available manpower. Makes notes of deficiencies within the Medical Center and report work orders to Engineering for repairs. Manage BMS (Bed Management System) Bed Status Board to make the bed turnaround time in more Efficient, prepare, and manage patient flow and Maximize use of hospital capacity.
Counsel employees regarding work assignments, Leave abuse or conduct, when it’s unsatisfactory. Reviews letters of indebtedness with assigned personnel as required. Recommends disciplinary actions on employees after fact finding have been completed, as required and send findings to EMS Management. Responsible for Composing and writing counseling reports, reports of contact and other required documentation. Write daily inspections reports, prepare Performance Appraisals and reports that are mandated from Chief, EMS. Write Action plans for projects as required utilizing MS Word, Excel and responds to e-mails in Outlook. Orientates new employees and participates in both formal and on-the-job training of new and current personnel with TMS Training. Holds staff meetings with assigned personnel and discuss problem areas, safety, and training. Review Medical Center Policies, and Standard Operating Procedures and changes in procedures.
Knowledgeable of all HKA Supervisor duties at all levels of housekeeping aid functions and procedures. Works in highly specialized areas, i.e., operating rooms, dialysis, procedure rooms to clinical areas, patient rooms, kitchens and administrative areas.
