Allen Meyers

• I was able to graduate with a 3.2 grade point average while working in the school's work program, all while doing home health care with my father that had leukemia at the time. I earned my High School Diploma at the age of 19, but I graduated earlier than my class.

I have learned a lot about treatment and how the brain activates certain parts of the mind and body which work in togetherness with neurotransmitters and neurons which all start from a thought process in the prefrontal cortex. I have learned that to keep your peace of mind you have to endure the next right thing that needs to be done. I have experience in doing assessments now and how to tell if someone has a mental diagnosis and if it needs to be treated. I’m currently in Chemical Dependency 3+4 while doing Affective Ed/ group treatment. I now have my Chemical Dependency Licensure as a Preliminary Chemical Dependency Counseling Assistant. I know that I will live by the ethical standards, rules and regulations that I’m entitled to teach others now.

While I was an eager student in trying to get my Chemical Dependency Counseling Assistant Certificate I learned a lot about the human health and how the body works with the brain, making life easier for me to understand of why I am the way I’m today and in today’s society.
