- I’ve assisted in administrative tasks such as filing documents or entering data into computer systems that is accurate according to the patient.
- My daily tasks in hygiene assisting consist of preparing treatment rooms for patient examinations with sterilized instruments and equipment, set up trays with instruments and materials needed by the dentist.
- The most important step in my encounter with patients is making them feel at home in the office . I love to welcome and guide patients to their appointments rooms and make them feel heard and safe before their procedure.
- I always ask the patient a basic wellness question. For example, “ Is there anything bothering you or concerning you?, that you would like to relate to the dentist “. After the question is answered I inform dental providers of conditions that could impact treatment.
- Exposed dental diagnostic x-rays.
- Sterilized dental equipment using automatic washers to prevent cross contamination.
- Preparing tools and materials for dentist use during procedures and passing instruments to dentist upon request. I am familiar with safely setting up syringes for any numbing treatment.
- I always clean and disinfect surfaces in operatories between patients. I know how to safely break rooms down and dispose of needles if needed.
- I always operate equipment and machinery according to safety guidelines.
