  • Precepted new hires (CNAs) that came onto the unit; this involved demonstrating all tasks and checking off their competencies as they went. This included float techs that would pass through for their competencies. Also was assigned the task of making the PCT day shift schedules when the manager's schedule did not allow.
  • Obtained patient vital signs, performed ADLs, assisted with feedings, helped with wound checks, assisted in transfers, and also organized supplies on unit and in patient rooms.
  • Responded to patient emergencies with immediate care and notified clinicians to provide comprehensive assistance.
  • Organized and replenished unit supplies to maintain team readiness for expected demands. This includes cleaning and stocking patient rooms.
  • Completed activities of daily living for patients unable to self-care and assisted those with limited mobility in completing tasks. Many of these tasks were more complicated due to being in ICU setting and involves working around catheter bags, trachs, vents, etc.

  • Worked in medical records which included: sorting through documents from physicians, putting documents into appropriate charts, and answering multi-line phones.
  • Assisted physicians who rented out spaces monthly; this included any lab draws, filing documents, and any other extra tasks those providers needed.
