Through both the I-20 wildlife preserve and Rue 21, I learned all about working with a team, meeting deadlines, and public speaking. However, during my time with the Job Corps crew, I learned how to work with many tools and in many different environments that I was originally scared to even think about interacting with. But the people I worked with there helped me to be my best self, and to put myself out there, asking questions no one else had thought of, or making suggestions that ended up being used. I am now confident, no matter the place I am situated in, and through that, my skills grow every day. The more fields I work in, the more they can expand and thrive.
