Writing Experience

  • I currently self-publish short stories online. For me, writing goes beyond a mere professional goal. Writing and self-publishing short stories is something I'm really passionate about. The narratives I create are often inspired by nature, food, history, socioeconomic patterns, etc.
  • My thesis on science communication discusses how science blogging can capture the public's attention. I conducted a comprehensive analysis of the ways in which diverse demographics engage with science journalism, utilizing extensive research and hard data, under the personal guidance of National Geographic journalist Charles Choi.
  • Working as a writer-editor for the college newspaper, I managed the science column and wrote articles on diverse issues such as substance abuse, animal welfare, and social inequities. Working with other writers on research and interviews and creating and organizing themes for the newspaper brought true joy to me.

Research Experience

  • Honor's thesis: "Science Blogging: Science Journalists of the Internet." Supervisor: Dr. Sandra Gilchrist. I investigated how the critical integration of science journalism into internet blogging benefits society by building a culture of scientific learning.
  • Pritzker Marine Laboratory: As a laboratory assistant in Sarasota, FL, I gained skills in maintaining stable marine environments and terrariums tailored to the highly specific needs of the marine flora and fauna. I built a water filtration system using indigenous plant species in collaboration with my classmates.
