Accomplishments

  • Participating with a team of 10 working to address food insecurity in oncology patients by implementing a screening tool and providing shelf stable food boxes to patients in need.
  • Collaborated in the development and implementation of a Pre-Infusion Education Program for new chemotherapy and immunotherapy patients resulting in a decrease of anxiety when starting treatment, and increase in patient retention of education and an increase in patient satisfaction.
  • Built partnerships with donors and a company to fund a program to provide specialty Port Shirts to each new infusion patient.
  • Developed and implemented Neutropenic Fever Alert cards for chemotherapy patients to improve communication with emergency room staff if patient presented with a fever during treatment.
  • Participated in Phase 1, 2 and 3 clinical trials administering investigational medications and gathering required data by documenting vital signs and drawing labs as required.
  • Served as an EPIC (EHR) super user. This included supporting coworkers in implementation of new workflows and updates, trouble shooting daily issues and traveling to provide support to off site clinics as they implemented EPIC systems.
