  • Develop and enhance TikTok Shop's Live experience (9/2024-present), enabling creators to seamlessly sell products to viewers during live streams
  • Improved Shop operator efficiency by revamping internal task-creation page which also led to higher quality tasks with fewer errors
  • Contribute to and maintain TikTok's developer portal (1/2023-9/2024) as a front-end engineer (developers.tiktok.com).
  • Created new blogs page where engineering teams at TikTok can post updates about what they are working on to the broader tech community. The page allows users to share links to various social media accounts with Open Graph support, and subscribe to receive updates about new blog posts. Currently the total number of people reading our blog is about 10K and growing.
  • Completed app configuration section and product page for our new Data Portability API, a project with a tight deadline that was a requirement for the company in order to be compliant with the European Union's Digital Market's Act (DMA).
  • Perform standard Software Engineering tasks such as code reviews, adding unit/e2e testing, conducting interviews, etc.

  • Worked as a front-end web and native-desktop app engineer for Messenger audio and video calling. This involved fixing bugs, working with designers to finalize designs for new features, and implementing/testing them before rolling them out.
  • Supported Facebook's web news feed (facebook.com on desktop) by helping to maintain all existing UI and created new UI elements that helped boost Facebook web commenting by over 1%.
  • Served as a member of oncall rotations for all teams which involved debugging tasks from employees, monitoring user activity and triaging tasks to other coworkers.
  • Worked to help ramp up new members of the team by explaining new technologies they were unfamiliar with, as well as helping to debug and review their code, averaging over 100 PR's per half.
  • Served as a mentor to new employees of the company for 4 engineers; my responsibilities included meeting with them once a week, assigning them tasks each week, teaching them about general Facebook engineering principles, and helping them choose a team.
