The EMT team is the Knowledge Powerhouse of the building. We understand all aspects of every department. We are the problem solvers. As an EMT associate, I work with exceptions (unfulfilled orders), variances (lost product), cycle counts (wall to wall, monthly inventory counts), configurations (product placement), no inventories (products without value), consolidating to create available space, and problem solve any other issues that could use our expertise. We are proficient with computers, and have a general knowledge of our warehouse management system, such as. Escalating emails, using word documents like Excel, and have a basic understanding of all the functions available to us for research. We are a self motivated, self functioning team who assist in all departments. Before being accepted into this position. I was a Material Handler, Reach and Forklift operator. Proficient with the stand up reaches and sit down forklifts. Mainly worked in the inbound operations, also flexed to outbound for assistance. Always reached goals and assisted in every way possible.
Signify is a Lighting Distribution Center. We received and unloaded materials. Picked and shipped out orders. All workers were independent. Supervisors assigned the next shifts assignments, which included around 8 to 10 hours worth of work. These were full truckloads, or small LTL carriers. Workers would come in and get their assignments, and make sure that it was all completed by end of shift. Most of it was box picks, assembled onto pallets, built up to 10 feet tall, depending on how big the cube was for the truck. If done early, we would assist other coworkers, making sure everyone was able to complete all orders for the day. I was also an unloader and loader when needed.
Started off as a GWA (General warehouse associate). We physically offloaded trucks onto conveyor belts, that extended into the trucks. Any and all products that you would see in a Home Depot currently. This was a very fast paced job. All products were in and out of the building in 72 hrs upon arrival. Not a storage facility. It was a RDC (Rapid Deployment Center). Was then promoted to 148 (quality assurance). Any product that would kick out onto the reject lines, I would need to fix and redirect to an appropriate store. Anything received in, would have a store to ship to. If it didn't have proper labels or a receiving store, it would reject and need further research. Basically somebody double checking freight, making sure its accurate and being sent to the proper customers. Then later promoted to Dock Coordinator. This person was responsible for directing which loads went to which doors on the inbound operations. Would assign each associate to certain lines. How many workers needed per line depending on which loads they were getting. Planning how outbound would receive freight to better the pallet building process. Directed 148s to certain lines that were down, due to problematic freight. Pretty much the team Lead under the Supervisor of that department.
Started off as a Machine operator. Welded parts together to fulfill orders. Later moved to their assembly line. We attached parts that we were assigned to, then passed it to the next person in line. Pretty basic assembly line work. Met daily goals.
