  • My responsibilities at the bistro were to open and close every day, handle the register and cash deposits, and make sandwiches, smoothies, burritos, and salads.
  • I was also responsible for prepping our cheeses, meats, and fresh vegetables.
  • Service was five hours long, and we would get up to 160 tickets, just my coworker and me.
  • At both locations, I had to be mindful to continuously restock everything.
  • Pleasantly interacted with customers during hectic periods to promote fun, positive environment.

Kitchen Manager

  • I started off as a prep cook for two months before asking to be trained as an evening cook. I was promptly trained and became an evening cook.
  • After 8 months, I was asked to be a shift lead and a trainer, and I was also being trained on the busy mornings as a breakfast cook.
  • Within a year and a half, I was the 1st cook (we had three positions).
  • In year two, I was a co-manager in the kitchen on the five busiest days of the week, working every Thursday through Monday. The busiest days reached over 400 tickets and around $10,000 in revenue.
  • I was responsible for making sure the high schoolers were broken out, communicating with the other cooks, including prep cooks, problem-solving, etc.
  • By year 4, I was asked to create an evening dinner service experience to pair with the tap room, which included menu development, hiring, and training staff.
