I am a hardworking and dedicated individual who's seeking a flexible position determined to make a difference for college students, the campus, and the community. I aspire to learn new things and am always up for a challenge. I utilize my critical thinking skills and creativity in difficult situations to provide solutions for everyone involved.
I am a Licensed Clinical Behavioral Health social worker in the Assessment Unit at the hospital. I complete biopsychosocial assessments, assist in the stabilization of our patients, and schedule aftercare planning for patients in an acute psychiatric setting. I develop treatment plans to direct inpatient care as part of an interdisciplinary team. I provide individual, family, and group therapies as needed to help achieve patient stability. I serve as a resource to ensure appropriate utilization of community resources.
I am currently a Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) evaluator for the national firm Bock Associates, which is contracted by the state of Missouri. I conduct evaluations with individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental illnesses to determine if a nursing facility is the most appropriate level of care based on the individual’s needs. This process includes physically meeting with the client at their current residence, receiving collateral information from guardians/supports, requesting records from the hospital or outpatient provider, and using clinical judgement to make an appropriate determination.
I was a mental health technician on the pediatric, adult, and geriatric units. I was an active part of the treatment team and provided continuous care to all the patients. I led mental health groups on a daily basis, actively listened to the patient’s needs and gave support, & provide therapeutic education of treatment. I have learned medical terms, treatment options, writing notes, different teaching styles, creative activities, etc.
I completed my graduate practicum at the University of Missouri Hospital in the Emergency Department under the guidance of their social worker. I responded to all class I and II traumas, located crucial patient information, and I would comfort the families with updates and resources. I would complete strengths-based biopsychosocial assessments with patients to identify their needs and provide or make referrals for the individual or family. I have provided crisis intervention, counseling, and support to all clients, including domestic violence victims. I have assisted in safe discharge planning for many levels of care, including skilled rehabs, home health care, and other services.
I was a licensed policy sales and service customer service representative. My main responsibility was to assist every customer, co-worker, and the company to the best of my ability. I took calls on a regular basis and every single call was different. This has helped prepare me to be patient, empathetic, and flexible in my career. I have proven I am a very trustworthy employee by handling sensitive information every day including credit card information and the customer’s personal information.
