Aspiring young adult equestrian pursuing a veterinarian based degree. I would love to find an environment where I can continue cultivating my skills and learn more about the veterinarian field while gaining lots of hands-on experience. I have basic knowledge of horse, dog, cat, and chicken care and handling. I am familiar with feeding, mucking out stalls, and a few aspects of barn management based on light observations. Understand dosing of medication but need more experience. Have given oral medications to cats, cattle, and goats, and administered intramuscular injections in cattle. I have owned a horse and have handled small ponies to large 17 hh horses, as well as a few horses with anxious demeanors. I have owned and looked after cats and chickens for over ten years. As a volunteer at a lesson barn, I helped students catch, groom, and tack up their horses. Familiar with treating minor wounds, applying treatments for rainrot, and thrush as necessary. I am familiar with basic anatomy of horses, cats, and dogs. As for riding, I have participated in two crossrails shows. I have ridden horses with different temperaments, some with more go than woah and others that are slow and lazy. I understand that each horse is unique and require different needs based on their personalities, conformation, and breed. I am familiar with different breeds of dogs as well. I am always eager to learn more and willing to go the extra mile to fulfil any tasks assigned to me. I strive to provide the best care and attentiveness for any animal under my care.
I am open to answering any further questions according to employers needs.
