Greets, directs, and receives patients at reception desk. Gives patients their required forms. Coordinates scheduled patient arrival with the appropriate technologists.
Acts as liaison between patient and technologist staff. Performs patient scheduling and completion of all demographic and protocol specific information necessary for a scheduled exam.
Calls approximately 20-30 patients daily to pre-screen them for MRI safety and to go over preparation before MRI appointments. Obtains implant cards and has technologist fill out MRI device search form to clear implant. Uploads prescreening form to patient's chart for technologist.
Utilizes the MRI protocol work list to obtain order revisions deemed necessary by Radiologist and to confirm patients are scheduled on the correct MRI machine depending on the exam protocol.
Utilizes the PACS system, for retrieving, and printing of studies as requested by physicians, patients, and hospital staff.
Calls other facilities to retrieve films, reports, etc., for Radiologists / Physicians.
Checks patients physical Radiology orders to confirm they were accurately transcribed into the system and if diagnosis matches order.
Obtains diagnoses and labs from physician orders for radiological and nuclear medicine exams.
