• Hired as an intern for the company.
• Completed the required 40 hour training course where I learned the basics of becoming an RBT, the various ways of behavior modification in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (extinction, discrete trial training, shaping, prompting, reinforcement, behavior reduction plans, antecedent intervention, and natural environment teaching), the various methods to recording and interpreting data, as well as the basic principles of ethics and interdisciplinary work.
• After completion of the training, I took the Behavior Analyst Certification Board exam with Pearson, and became officially certified as an RBT as of June 2024
• I began working with clients in a home setting and under the supervisor of a BCBA. I worked to implement treatment plans that promote healthy coping behaviors, teach new behaviors, and assist with skills related to communication, social interactions, and daily living in young kids on the autism spectrum.
• In addition, I also completed various tasks for my employer such as charting patient statuses, creating a handbook for future interns, and documenting discharge paperwork.
