Transitioned from a clerical/administrative role to a clinical/bedside role in the Adult ICU after completing CNA program.
- Assisted in the orientation and training of 4 new CNAs
- Managed the nursing station operations, including answering telephones, preparing newly admitted patient charts, and processing downgrades of patients
- Worked with registered nurses and dietary staff to ensure meals were provided to patients and maintained detailed meal documentation
- Delivered lab specimens, including blood and fecal specimens
- Answered patient call lights promptly, made rounds on assigned patients, as well as anticipated basic needs of patients
- Assisted nursing staff with newly admitted patients by getting them cleaned with CHG wipes, dressed in new hospital gowns, and applying vital sign monitor equipment, including blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter, ECG electrodes, and padded bandages on bony prominences
- Readied open patient rooms daily for new admissions by providing fresh linens, cleaning and preparing bedside tables with supplies needed by nursing staff - including pulse oximeters, blood pressure cuff, saline flushes, etc
- Provided nursing care, including but not limited to positioning/re-positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, assisting patients with changing bedpans, commodes
- Monitored and recorded patient vital signs, documenting appropriately in correct patient's charts as well as notified Primary RN of concerning vital sign activity
- Organized and scheduled daily patient visits, welcoming their visitors
- Practiced safety measures when assigned to patients with safety/fall risk precautions, as well as with patients on legal holds such as 5150s and 5250s

Office Assistant III / Medical Unit Clerk - Adult Critical Care Unit
December 2020 - November 2021
Laterally transferred from the OBGYN Department to the Adult ICU as an Office Assistant III, performing general duties such as answering phones, composing emails, alpha/numeric filing and data entry. As an Office Assistant III, I played an integral role in preparing and maintaining the unit for audits from Joint Commission, including creating a new tracking system for staff and their compliance.
- Provide clerical support to Nursing staff, including ICU Director, Nurse Coordinator and Assistant Nurse Managers
- Oversee and maintain inventory of office and medical supply purchases
- Record member attendance of Departmental meetings
- Maintain employee compliance (i.e., nursing license, certifications, training moodles, and occupational health screenings)
- Run weekly reports via Kronos pertaining to census, staffing, etc
- Complete patient admissions, downgrades and discharges in EPIC
- Create physical charts for incoming admissions
- Perform End of life protocols (e.g., coordinate visits with family, preparing charts)
- Act as Family-Patient Liaison, coordinating zoom meetings
- Log/Track new hires, resignations/terminations and LOAs (FMLA, CFRA, etc.)

Office Assistant III - Obstetrics & Gynecology Department
April 2019 - December 2020
As an Office Assistant III in the OBGYN Department, I reported directly to the Department Chair, Dr. Ronald Johnson, and Assistant Department Chair, Dr. Bryan Oshiro. My responsibilities included secretarial duties such as answering phones, composing emails, creating calendar appointments, alpha/numeric filing and data entry, as well as tracking compliance needs for each Physician (8 total), working directly with Medical Staff Administration.
- Coordinating Departmental meetings, preparing agendas, transcribing and maintaining minutes, recording staff attendance, maintaining Physician Lab Coat inventory
- Process and maintain Quality Improvement OB/Anesthesia Audit Reporting forms for Nursing Administration
- Provide clerical support to Medical Staff Coordinators during Physician Appointment/Reappointment process of both staff physicians and contracted physicians; conduct Peer Reviews and Proctoring of current/privileged attendees for Joint Commission compliance
- Maintain department roster of all Attendings, Fellows, Residents, and Medical Students, including compliance in the area(s) of staff privileges
- Coordinate and provide administrative support for the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program
- Create schedules of Resident Physicians and incoming Medical Students from Loma Linda University and University of California - Riverside; composing weekly medical student schedules to include educational training and appropriate hours for their student clerkship program
- Direct support of the Student Clerkship Coordinators and Residency Program Coordinators at Loma Linda University by scheduling site tours and orientations for incoming residents/students
- Process Resident rosters for LLU/GME compliance; review and process student/preceptor evaluations
